Sports Specialist Fitness and Sports Program Manger

Description:

This position will be assigned to the Fitness Center located at JBSA Fort Sam Houston TX.

This is a regular full-time position with guaranteed 35 hours per week. May work up to 40 hrs./wk. Scheduled as needed.

Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.


Qualifying Experience:

Must have experience in sports and fitness related fields which demonstrated working knowledge of the physical and psychological factors in
individual and team sports and the nature, purpose and organization of recreational or competitive individual and team sports. In addition, experience
must have shown the ability to plan, administer, or carry out a sports program and the ability to guide and teach participants the skills and techniques
for participation in various sports. Must have completed first aid training and possess either the Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must read, write and speak English and be able to communicate effectively.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
1. Can you work independently?
2. Can you be on your feet for long periods of time?
3. Do you work well with a group?
4. Do you have a current driver's license?
5. What is your knowledge with outdoor facilities?
